Blessings
Our family has been blessed again by two new additions.
Our niece Erin and her husband Dave have passed the final stage of the adoption process in Ethiopia and Ava Birhanesh officially became theirs on March 19. I wish that I had a picture to post because she has the sweetest face that would just melt your heart. They are now going through the process of getting her home, please keep them in your prayers. Congratulations Dave, Erin and Hannah!
Our niece Nicole and her husband Chris welcomed Ariel Madison into the world on March 24. 8lbs 8oz healthy baby girl. In my usual style, I swiped a picture from facebook. I could not resist the cuteness! Congratulations Chris, Nicole, and William!

Bath Day
Jim and Zach drove into NYC today to meet Jack and Cassie for a Knicks game at the "Garden". That meant that I had the entire day to myself. With Jim working from home I rarely find myself alone, so I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I did a bunch of home things for the better part of the morning and when all of my chores were done I headed outside for a long walk on the bridle trail with my best bud...Tofu. It was pretty great being outside. With no leaves on the trees yet, the sun shone down on my shoulders and the cool breeze kept me from getting to hot. Tofu could barley walk a few feet without reveling in all the scents the woods had to offer. She stuck her nose in the brook, walked through some dried horse manure and managed to slip out of her collar just as 2 riders on horseback cantered by. When we got back home I remembered that white dogs and dirt paths don't really mix, so I popped her into the sink for a much needed bath.
I am on my way out to pick up my Chinese dinner now. I had a great day and I hope that you did too!

Random
My poor blog. So neglected. It's not that I have been too busy, it's just that nothing has been going on lately. Well, things have been going on...but I have had to miss out on several things because I have some health issues right now. The good news is I am losing weight and exercising every day and my quest to get healthier will soon pay off.
Last week Zach texted me that he missed us, so we drove up to see him for a lunch/shopping date on Saturday. I love that we can do that! I get my Zach fix, he gets lunch and shopping and we are all happy.
Nick and Bre arrived late Saturday afternoon and stayed until Mon. am. It was so good to see them and hear about the exciting things going on in their newly married life. I love that they can come and stay and feel comfortable. Nick was stretched out on the couch watching TV and it was a flash back to last summer.
Kate has joined a gym with a few of her old high school buddies. She seems to be having fun reconnecting with her old gang. It does my heart good as well to see her happy!
Jim is going into the actual office this week and it's like the old days...when he went to work every day. Today was my day off and I packed it full of appointments. I happened to be in Woodbury around lunchtime and so I bought lunch for myself at New Morning, a health food store that has a wonderful takeout counter. I had a curried chicken sandwich and quinoa salad. I was so proud of myself, cause my initial inclination was to zip into "Ovens of France" and buy myself an almond croissant. I was so inspired by my good decision and sunny day, that I took Tofu for a nice long walk.
I am sitting in my chair now with Tofu pooped out beside me. I have some pork chops in the oven and am looking foward to having a good hot meal ready for Jim when he gets home.
